DISNEYLAND PARIS 2022!
Centre stage studio who are based at the Charles Burrell Centre, have just got back from a four day trip at Disneyland Paris, where 16 of their dancers performed on the videopolis stage in the main Disney Park. After being invited to send in an audition tape last summer, a group of the dancers came in to learn routines over the school holidays. They successfully sent in two audition routines and were accepted first time round with nothing but amazing feedback.
On the 17th of August 2022 the students from Centre Stage, along with their family and friends, traveled to Disneyland together. They stayed in the Disney hotel Santa Fe for three nights, which is walking distance from the parks. On Thursday the 18th they performed a 20 minute show in front of a big crowd of Disney guests, loads of people came to watch and support which was amazing. The day started by being escorted through the park and getting a backstage tour, before getting a little practice on the stage. The students were very excited, and all performed professionally on the stage. Studio owner Nicole Cottee had been planning this trip for a year and said it was 100% worth it when she saw their faces light up when they met their favourite characters. Although they went to perform, they also got to enjoy the parks whilst there, meeting characters, watching shows and going on rides. Nicole said, “sharing the experience with the students is something I’ll never forget, I can’t wait to take the studio to do it again in a few years time”. After the performance the Disney performance company invited the studio back again to dance both in the parade and on stage!
